Art and Economy
So I was having fun looking through some artist's journals and reading up on my contemporaries and came across a quote that I really liked:

"If you must economize, be stingy with your wife, your clothes, your food, but never on what will make your pictures better. This may sound almost immoral but in the end if you make better pictures you will make more money and then you can enjoy the food and the clothes and buy your wife a mink coat."  -Norman Rockwell
Norman Rockwell makes a fantastic point. Artists cannot afford to be stingy with their art. Without their art, artists have nothing (unless they have a job on the side, lol). With the cost of living gone up recently, economizing is going to have to happen. However, economizing your art will only hurt you. :)

Sorry for the lack of posting my friends. It's been a while since I've had some spare time to just sit on my butt and collect my life up to this date. I've been working my ass off, trying to find a job. However, I'm not desperate yet. The time, that I haven't had to update my journal, has been used to:
  • complete my resume
  • put together a portfolio, print and digital
  • find a web hosting service that is cheap enough that gives me the best overall package for the price
  • finalize website design (which by the way, will be accessible very, very soon)
Well anyways, that's what I've been up to lately and now need to get back to some more work. I'll post as soon as my website is back up again! :)
